Need a widget on a page or a post?
Yeah, that’s unfortunately not so easy if your theme doesn’t have that out of the box. I was just using a few themes that had some over-the-top “page builder” tools: widgets, graphs, all kinds of goodies. But if your regular WordPress theme (or even, ahem, Canvas) doesn’t have built-in embeddable widgets ready for your page, have a quick look at Widgetize Pages Light, it does the trick.
I quickly tried a few other plugins, but I was shopping mostly for:
- Works
- Fast
- Easy
It’s about as easy as 1, 2, 3.
- You create a new widgetized area in the plugin’s settings.
- Head over to the widgets, add what you like in there.
- Place the new widget shortcode into your page.
Done! If you want to get fancy, you could use some WOO shortcodes for columns to align them on your page as you’d like. Otherwise, they’ll do things like go full-width on you. But you get the idea.
In fact, I just used this plugin for the latest, greatest new theme coming out here soon from WPU and Querido Galdo! Stay tuned.
