The writer on the team found this WordPress theme that had a slider that I couldn’t improve on. It (originally) went from black and white to color when you hovered over it and then opened up a bit to give you something of a headline and a Read More button. Very cool. I like to vet themes to make sure they have support behind it, a reputable developer team and if not, I’ll find a theme that does and just try to replicate the design. But this slider was hard to beat!
We’re using some core photo galleries from WordPress’s own Jetpack so they’ll be easy for the client to update and manage themselves. Even those photos in the slider are interchangeable with just a few clicks. Of course, because it’s built in WordPress, they can update all of the content on the entire site.
