Melanie Johnston (melaniejohnstonwriter.com) had a nice-looking site, but she wanted to add new content. It was built in HTML. Hmm, what to do, what to do. Aha, WordPress. We took the look of the old site and customized a theme to look as much like that HTML site as possible. We added a sidebar so she could add more content (links, resources, blogroll, etc.) and made it so that when she adds new articles or stories, it would automatically get listed on the appropriate page.
To help Melanie get started with WordPress, we made a custom WordPress screencast (video tutorial) that walks through her site and shows her the basics of WordPress publishing. Now she can easily add her new articles, stories, and musings on her own schedule as often as she likes.
