Shianne Lombard of Lombard Fitness needed GenBook integrated with her site so she could have her clients book sessions more easily. Hmm, let’s see, how can we get that into the HTML header of the site? It’s going to sound crazy (hold onto your hats), but it’s often easier to completely rebuild a site using WordPress than to fiddle with some HTML in an unknown environment.

We even switched her hosting (to likoma.net), switched her domain registration, and set up her on WordPress, mostly stemming from that GenBook requirement. And why does she need that GenBook up so quickly? Because she has an awesome deal coming on Groupon in a few days that people are just going to jump on. Now’s she’s ready.

I needed the site up fast and I needed it to work well. I needed some code (JavaScript) in a widget in a sidebar easily, maybe in the header, too. We ended up not putting it in the header, but with the “Widgetize Right Side of Header?” feature in Genesis, it’s a snap.

I also got her on the Prose theme because it has the Design Settings page. Right there in the WordPress admin, you can change the font sizes, colors, underlines, etc. Now that we have her site in WordPress, we can easily add content, add more video, more reviews, more testimonials, news, etc.

One last note, I set up the Redirection plugin so that links from her old site won’t result in a 404 (error) page but will (501) redirect to the new page on the new site.
