We’re using press as “posts” so we can add new press as it comes in (also nicely displayed in the sidebar with auto-generated thumbnails). The ThemeForest theme allows for some custom features on the home page: fading slider, “welcome” or intro text (using cufon fonts), and easy to configure sidebar widgets. In that sidebar, we have all of the bookstores in Germany linked so the “call to action” is on every page upper right in the sidebar. Even got the umlauts working in the cufon font by re-downloading and adding certain characters and symbols.
