UC Press has a new magazine coming out: Boom California. With the expert design talent of Querido Galdo, we put together quite a show for the magazine site. The editors at Boom can add their own content, thumbnails, featured posts and featured images, they have an ad manager in the sidebar, a nice use of fancy cufon fonts, even an embedded listing of books from UC Press. We set up some nice archiving features for past issues and, this may sound trivial, but a calendar page that’s sorted by a custom field value (and not by the date posted), which is kinda tricky. Go Boom!
