Ellen Manerud wanted a design to show off her, well, design talent. She didn’t know WordPress, but knew a bloggy-looking site when she saw one–and didn’t want that. She found a beautiful WordPress theme that didn’t do bloggy and didn’t look much like WordPress anything. All she needs to do is upload an 800-pixel-wide image–once–and the theme does the heavy lifting with cropping, resizing, thumbnails and image placement. She adds her title, her body, her excerpt, and category and she’s off and running. Go Ellen! Check out her design work at Ellen Manerud Design.
